Dilworth's Custom Design
A top of the line cabinet manufacturer and custom design company, Dilworth lacked a robust Website that both showed off their talents and attracted traffic. LMGraphix IT put together a stunning Website that gave Dilworth the on-line portfolio they will use as part of their marketing strategy. Not only does Dilworth's new Website contain hundreds of photos, it also contains a good amount of copy. We optimized the text and coding on the Website to provide maximum visibility to search engines.
What We Did For The Dilworths'
Dilworth's previous Website was built entirely with Flash. Although Flash gives a designer the chance to show off their talents, it does nothing to attract search engines to a Website. Dilworth's needs were simple. Good Website Architecture, plenty of Photo Galleries to show off their work, write and edit CONTENT - perfected for SEO and editing all the photos they collect with each job.
Technical Stuff
- Graphic Design
The header had to also include all their navigation. We broke up the navigation into specific services and items related to the company. The left-side navigation includes all the photo galleries related to specific areas related to cabinet making and design. The top navigation handles the items you need to reach the company and to learn about the company.
- Flash Animation
The design of the Dilworth Custom Design Website had to incorporate the hundreds of photos detailing the kitchens and bath renovations they had completed. So, in the header we included a Flash movie that alternates a few key photos desplaying their beautiful cabinetry. Then we created xml driven Flash Photo Galleries to handle the hundreds of photos they want to display. XML files are a wonderful way to include images into flash, otherwise you have to edit the Flash document each time you want to include a new photo. Now we just edit the photo to get them to the right size and insert a couple lines of code into the appropriate XML file. Look at it this way, we have to edit the photo anyhow, but we are saving tons of times implementing XML files over editing Flash files.
- Website Templating
You guessed it. Dilworth's Custom Design is, well, a custom design! So we produced top-notch templates and imported them into Dreamweaver. Dilworth hires us to edit their photos and update their xml files and homepage periodically, so using Dreamwaver is not essential in this applications. But it sure does speed up hand-coding the site.
